"Drifting into the Abstract 1" is a mesmerizing work on canvas that recalls the soak-staining technique developed by American Abstractionist Helen Frankenthaler. Using thinned layers of color, translucency, and saturation are achieved across the entirety of the canvas, broken up only by a thin line that composes the abstract horizon. The item on the website is different than in person. The canvas on the website has distinct "wrinkled" texture. Which is what attracted my to the art work. Once I received it and reviewed it in person, there is no wrinkled effect. I called Four Hands Studio, the manufacturer, and they said the wrinkled effect was part of the painting. As in, it is painted to have that effect. Even so, the painting I received did not have a "painted" wrinkled effect. Other then that, it's beautiful.
