Barclay Butera's inspirations are drawn from a diverse variety of grand architecture from coast to coast, European and far eastern influences including everything from the high-fashion runways to his far-flung world travels. But, he readily credits old Hollywood and west palm beach as among his greatest muses.
The artist uses the deep blues of the pacific northwest to create a compelling seascape. The sky and water seem to blend into one with the only indication f a horizon line coming from a far-off light. The largely monochromatic piece makes a statement as a standalone piece or as a pair.

Jalis, or pierced screens, were used extensively in Indian architecture as windows, room dividers, and railings. Over the course of the day, the movement of their patterns in silhouette across the floor would enhance the pleasure of their intricate geometry. This Jalis, one of a pair, would have formed part of a series of windows set in an outside wall, as suggested by the weathering on one side. They are attributed to the reign of the Mughal emperor Akbar (r. 1550–1605) when red sandstone was the favored building material.
Austin Beiv grew up in the tough streets of Brooklyn. Where the expression of one’s self was usually done through wall tagging, or as we say in Italian "graffito". Austin was influenced by many different artists particularly Fernando Carlo. Fernando was well known for his expressive graffiti. The influence from Austin’s childhood is where the edge and contemporary look comes from in his art pieces. Austin graduated from Pratt Institute in the early ’90s. Austin now travels all over America to look for inspirations whether it’s a tagged wall or an art museum. Austin loves to embrace all the unique and expressive simplicities life offers.
