The animal subjects of the “La Serie della Natura” derive from the iconographic research that Mari developed at the beginning of the ‘60s for the definition of the characters of the “Gioco delle Favole”. A lengthy study was dedicated to each subject to achieve an emblematic result that makes an alphabet of institutionalized signs decipherable. The re-edition of the prints of Enzo Mari’s iconic subjects, therefore, continues with three subjects taken from this project and already created as independent prints.

"La Serie della Natura" was born from the project of Enzo Mari, master of Italian design, to create multiples of art. The subjects are images from everyday life simplified to become symbols, reproduced since 1961 in the series of serigraphs. Cinque, Il Lupo is the new re-issue that joins the other iconic subjects in the collection.

Neo Terracotta 1 pays homage to the influential American abstract expressionist Robert Rauschenberg with color and texture forming a layered visual weave. Here, the metaphorical and the abstract offer a delicate balance in the warm color scheme of salmon, terracotta, and peony pink. A juxtaposition of opposites can be found in the divided picture plane with the top portion featuring heavy brushwork, strong geometric shapes, and assorted marks.
