Enigma 1 is a superb example of abstract still life, an art style that focuses less on realistically replicating objects in favor of eliciting conceptual interpretations. This work relies on geometric and organic shapes along with implied lines, doodles, and solid areas of textured color to create a dance between the structured and the chaotic. The well-chosen color palette in dusky blue, greige, maize, and alabaster is accented by pops of crimson, pumpkin, and charcoal. A mesmerizing addition to Art by TA, Enigma 1 invites the viewer to go beyond the surface and contemplate the sublime.

Raised in Los Angeles, California, D’Alessandro was the youngest of three brothers. When art competition was a form of play for the brothers, it later grew into his obsession. D’Alessandro attended the art institute of California where he explored mixing mediums as well as digital. He also attended illustration, sculpting, and fine art workshops in Fullerton Ca. After spending long periods of time studying different techniques, D’Alessandro's art became increasingly influenced by artists from the early 1900s. During D’Alessandro’s studies, he painted many different themes. He painted with restless intensity, often painting from morning until night. D’Alessandro was able to indulge his earliest artistic preferences for people, nature, architecture, and landscapes in his illustration and personal pieces. He also painted family, friends, and gardens. He has done commissioned work for a variety of clients in music, publishing, and editorial. His work has been exhibited in numerous private and public collections.

Magenta Fields 1 is an homage to Color Field painting, a prominent subgenre within the broader Abstract Expressionist movement of the mid-20th century. This work on canvas emphasized the allure of unbroken swathes of pure color. Sheets of color in magenta, muted seafoam green, and peach permeate the picture plane. Loops and marks add a playful counterpoint. A lively work of art on canvas, Magenta Fields 1 is a joyful addition.
