Guseul Park was born and raised in Korea and studied ceramics in college; however, she was always drawn to painting and drawing and is a self-taught artist. “Art means meditation to me. By creating art, I get to go explore the deepest side of me and examine my state of mind. Creating art always brought me to a state of pure joy. It is the place in which I can be myself.” Her favorite medium to use is a pencil which she describes as “back to basics art.” She finds inspiration in daily strolls and travel. She also enjoys reading and sewing embroidery when she is not creating new artwork.
Artist Mia Malcolm Studio is a furniture designer and award-winning interior decorator who designs the spacious residential interiors of fortune 500 CEOs, leading Hollywood producers, actors, Olympic athletes, and others across the nation. Marissa won widespread acclaim for creating unique, environmentally-friendly furniture pieces, each of which is offered with the use of reclaimed wood. She curates a collection of designs from her prestigious client base and includes them in her furniture line. Marissa, the mother of two, established her company, Mia Malcolm, around the idea that furniture is an art and that it's important to add logic to the luxury lifestyle. She was motivated to launch the company partly by her fearless independence and partly by her artistic instinct and upbringing. I grew up with a paintbrush in one hand and a hammer in the other, says Mia, a self-made and self-taught success who was influenced early on by her mother, a designer, and father, a contractor. I can't imagine allowing someone to alter my perspective on the play of shape and color.

Elena Carlie was born in Romania; a country known for its rich cultural heritage and great natural beauty. At the age of 22, she moved to the United States where she expanded her horizons and grew as an artist. She has studied Fine arts since she was a child and currently holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of NH. “Art defines our humanity, freedom, and individuality. It is a way to articulate abstract thought and separates us from other life forms. Art is incredibly therapeutic for me, and foremost a strong passion. It’s not something I think about, but rather, something I feel.” Carlie finds inspiration everywhere. She strives to discover new ways of interpretation and sees this as a formula to remain fresh. It is a way of having fun while doing something that she loves. “To me, anything that can be manipulated can become an art medium.” “I love to work with watercolor paint, oil paint, acrylic paint, pencil, pen, and ink. However, the digital tools available today are pushing the limits of creativity and I find myself very involved with it.”
David Erickson grew up emulating the works of the masters using rudimentary tools. David received his fine arts training while apprenticing under other painters and is primarily self-taught. Eric explores themes of memory and place often through abstract and draws inspiration from the world around him, across a multitude of disciplines. David’s passions are drawing, painting, illustration, design, film, and photography. When David is not painting, his time is spent enjoying the outdoors with canine companions.

Abstract Cipher 1 is an exquisite study of technique and color with just a hint of mark-making. A masterful composition, this work on paper uses layers of multiple colors to achieve a textural feel, while a sense of movement is created using a cascade effect of the texturing and layering. A tranquil color scheme in baby blue and dark denim is punctuated by snow-white dollops of color. The scene is anchored by a bone-white backdrop. The harmonious use of color, texture, and space draws the viewer into a meditative exploration in this work on textured paper. Part of the carefully curated Art by TA collection.
