Artist Commentary: I create abstract paintings that distill the light, the intense colors, and the constant movement in nature. The final visual is pure, ethereal, and cosmic with no physical references. With a thought-out color palette and my unique process, I start on a journey of creation. It is always a balance of letting go and being in control. My head, heart, and hand become one and something pure and personal happens. Vapor-like shapes appear and disappear on the panel, leaving only traces of the initial layer, like the mere reverberation of a memory.

Since 1994, Barclay Butera has been the creative force behind his eponymous design firm and showroom in Newport Beach, California. His success in Newport prompted Butera to establish showrooms in Hollywood, California, and park city, Utah. Butera is renowned for his approachable elegance and glamorous, west-coast chic interiors. Barclay Butera's inspirations are drawn from a diverse variety of grand architecture from coast to coast, European and far eastern influences including everything from the high-fashion runways to his far-flung world travels. But, he readily credits old Hollywood and west palm beach as among his greatest muses.
Artist Mari Urasawa was born in Tokyo, Japan, where various cultures continually crossed paths. She was born into a creative family that appreciated art, music, and philosophy. She enjoys movies, yoga, travel, reading and scuba diving. She studied Fine Arts in college. She was especially interested in Printmaking and liked silkscreen and etching because of the way it combined hand painting and digital looks. “Art is a part of my life and cannot live without. There is no right or wrong about art. It has the freedom to express whatever you feel. I paint what I see, not what it is supposed to look.” She works in mixed Medias and combines both digital and hand-painted works to create her unexpected looks.

Love it more than expected! Was scared that the colors might be in different in person, but the print looked just like the picture. . Norma. Chicago, IL. 2020-09-26 16:11:25
