We love the whimsy of the decorative small zebra trays. Sold as a Set/3. The trays come as a set in cobalt, red, and black/white. The Scalamandre zebra pattern is the perfect accent and/or gift for the adventurer in us all. A little background history: In 1945, Flora Scalamandre was asked by a friend in New York, Gino Circiello, who was opening a small restaurant to develop a fun, animated wallpaper for his new restaurant Gino's. He fell in love with the whimsical repeat of the prancing zebras that she presented to him. The motif was instantly put into repeat and printed on wallpaper in the color of the rich marinara sauce. It's still a hit today! Scalamandre offers patterns in fabric and wallpaper in multiple colors.
Lladro
For the Parsi community, descended from Persian Zoroastrians, an important part of Indian culture, the Faravahar represents the wisdom of age. It is a protective symbol with different meanings, a guardian angel that exemplifies one of the religion's main teachings: to live with good thoughts, words, and actions. It is also believed to symbolize the victory of light over darkness. In the bas-relief of the plate, executed by Lladró artists, the sacred figure of the Faravahar is enhanced by the delicate ornamentation and the elegant contrast between the purity of the white porcelain and the golden luster of the circular frieze surrounding it.
