This porcelain sculpture decorated with a compelling combination of white, black, and golden luster is the result of the collaboration between Lladr and Laolu Senbanjo, a Brooklyn-based Nigerian visual artist, musician, human rights lawyer, and activist. Senbanjo's personal graphic language, which combines influences from the Yoruba culture from Nigeria with a more contemporary treatment, is coupled with the sculptural form to give rise to a singular body of work with the personal stamp of a committed artist. Rendering Senbajo's drawing in porcelain called for outstanding work in two main areas. On one hand, the ornamentation team had to etch each one of the strokes by hand so that they could be recreated in the pieces.
