Nambé
Never too strong or too bland, our Nambé Chile always adds just the right amount of zest to a sunny kitchen windowsill or desktop pile of papers. As Chile aficionados know, New Mexico is famous for its red and green peppers, so it seems only fitting that another New Mexico institution, Nambé, should produce its own variety. Ours is realistically sand-cast of our own metal alloy and hand-polished to a sizzling sheen. Just to toot our own horn a bit, we emblazon our name on the tip. Give the pepper person in your life extra spice with this 6-inch beauty, and keep one for yourself. It just might be the beginning of a beautiful gastronomic friendship.

Hermes was cunning and clever and had the gift of oratory, which is why the gods chose him to be their herald, as he was able to convey their message with eloquence and charm. This god from Mount Olympus is usually depicted with wings on his heels because he has to travel quickly to deliver Zeus's orders wherever he is called. In this new edition, the wings are decorated with golden luster. Hermes is the latest addition to the Myths collection and like the rest of the pieces, it is made in matte white porcelain to enhance the realism, the wealth of details, and the sculptural work in the execution.

This marvelous quetzal is the original creation of Mexico's Gerardo and Teresa Ojeda. They carve the bird and its long feathers by hand from copal wood and paint them in meticulous detail. The Oaxacan folk art form dates back to the 1930s. A Mexican artist named Pedro Linares had dreams while ill, in which fantastical creatures rushed towards him shouting the nonsense word, "alebrije! alebrije!". When he woke from his fevered sleep, he was compelled to recreate the unusual creatures that he had seen in his dream.
Mexican artisans Zeny and Reyna create this excellent sculpture, demonstrating their expertise in the Oaxacan folk art form. The whimsical sculpture is carved from copal wood and painted in lavish detail in a rainbow of colors. The folk art tradition of alebrijes dates back to the 1930s in Mexico City. A man named Pedro Linares was taken ill, and in his feverish dreams he saw a strange land populated with curious creatures--a donkey with wings, a rooster with bull's horns, and a lion with the head of a dog. The beasts all ran at him, shouting the nonsense word, "alebrije! alebrije!". Upon his recovery, Linares began recreating the fantastical creatures he had seen in his dream in papier mache. The art form gained popularity, and alebrijes are now made of wood as well as papier mache.
