Adorned with cheerful artistry, this purple and pink snail makes its way from the magical lands of Oaxaca. "The snail symbolizes life that starts and ends in a spiral," believe Zeny and Reyna. After carving the copal wood alebrije, they use the tip of a maguey leaf to paint the florid patterns.
A mighty elephant lifts his trunk in fury, thrusting powerful tusks upward. Carved in intricate jali, or openwork, he reveals two perfect miniature elephants inside. Gulam Rasool masterfully sculpts the elegant pachyderms of natural soapstone.

Made in matte black porcelain, this bust of a woman borrows its inspiration from the symbolism and intense coloring of African culture. The serene facial features, masterfully sculpted, are rounded off with a decoration using luster and metallic colors. Particularly noteworthy are the details etched in the earrings and pendant and the ornamental work recreating the intricate braiding of the hair. The result is a creation with great expressive strength that speaks to the character of African art.

Lord Ganesha is the god of wisdom and knowledge. This deity is very popular in India and is represented here playing the mridangam, a traditional instrument. In addition, the piece portrays other attributes of the traditional iconography of Ganesha, such as the Gada (mace), the pasha (rope), and the broken fang, all elements whose symbolism is contained in the avatars, or traditional stories about Ganesha, which are known well by his numerous worshippers. This is the fourth and final part of the series of musical Ganeshas.
