Whimsical in terracotta, Rocky the Teckel is a sculpture by the emerging Thai artist Nhut Nhathawut. With an expression that is so lifelike that it feels like he may bark at any moment, there are a number of artisanal aspects to the canine sculpture. This includes the obvious strokes of the artist's tools that play along the surface of the dog's body. Brownlee Currey had some fun with this dachshund, describing his reality as, "Known for only biting below the knee, he was last seen wading in the ocean just off Miami."
Villa & House (originally Bungalow 5)
The Bench Figurine depicts a modern family in a recognizable post-war British style. A peaceful, seated couple holds young children. At the time, sculptures like these were understood to express relief, normalcy, and a return to family life now that WWII was over. The statue echoes pre-war art’s distinctive voids that accent negative space. The impasto finish has the marks and texturing you might expect to see in a maquette for a larger work.

The Mushroom collection is inspired by the whimsical magic of fairy tales. Humbly emerging from the earth, these fungi have been known for thousands of years to contain mystical powers. They have been used by shamans from cultures all over the world to procure enlightenment and celebrate the deep interconnectedness of life.
Lord Ganesha is the god of wisdom and knowledge. This deity is very popular in India, and he is represented here playing an Indian flute (bansuri). In addition, the piece portrays other attributes of the traditional iconography of Ganesha, such as the Gada (mace), the Paasha (rope), and the broken fang, all elements whose symbolism is contained in the avatars, or traditional stories about Ganesha, which are known well by his numerous worshippers.
