Crinoids, also known as sea lilies, are members of the Echinodermata phylum along with starfish and sea urchins. This Crinoid fossil is from Morocco. They have the appearance of graceful underwater flowers. They are among the oldest fossils known in the world, dating all the way back to the Ordovician period, or 450 million years ago.
From Pamir Mountains, Badakshan, Afghanistan. Beautiful gemmy purple Scapolite crystal on feldspar matrix. Scapolite crystals have excellent color and luster. The specimen contains a beautiful standing position.
From Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Tennessee. Single double-terminated twinned crystal of rich golden calcite on matrix lined with metallic luster sphalerite crystals. The Calcite is in pristine condition, well defined with gem transparent core.
Internally flawless crystal cluster of optical-grade colorless calcite on gossan matrix. The calcite crystal is fully terminated with a hexagonal prism shape with a flat termination with water transparency down to the base of the crystal.
From Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Tennessee. Large aesthetic cluster of highly lustrous black sphalerite crystals on a quartz coated matrix with micro golden calcite crystals. Large 360-degree cluster with a metallic luster. Damage-free. When rear illuminated red color is apparent. From Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Tennessee
Trilobites, an early arthropod relative of spiders, horseshoe crabs, and scorpions, preserved in this level of detail only occurred as a result of very sudden underwater landslides called turbidite sequences, which ravaged the early earth when the continents were still very much on the move. The contorted body positions of the trilobites demonstrate a final fight against being buried alive.Notice the many eye facets present on this example. The Asteropyginae recently have undergone revision. This one has been known in the past as Metacanthina, an entirely different trilobite. This one has many fine details present, including pustules on the genals. This one has been prepared in a reflexed position, making a striking display.Middle Divonian: 400 MYOWeight: 1.7 lbs, Dimension: 5 x 1.5 x 4 inches

Natural trilobite on its original fossil matrix. The Asaphid trilobites include some of the most extreme trilobite adaptations known, and the group produced some of the largest trilobites ever. Asaphus intermedius is known for its highly stalked compound eyes. This adaptation becomes even more apparent in its stark contrast to the lack of ornamentation over the rest of the animal's body. This is because Asaphus was a response to new predatory threats: instead of swimming away, these trilobites buried themselves in the sand.*You will receive the exact object in these photosSpecies: Asaphus LepidurusAge: Middle Divonian: 360 MYOLocation: Emsian, Middle Devonian, Taharajat, Djebel Oufaten, Atlas Mountains, MoroccoWeight: 389 grams, Size: 4 x 2 x 4 inches
