An attractive sculpture capturing the curves of the pangolin in its defensive, rolled-up position, with its head tucked under the armor of its scaled body. Painted in muted creams and browns, the pattern on the base of the sculpture echos the shape of the pangolin's multiple scales.
Left Thebe has captured the rolled-up, defensive pose of the pangolin, with its armor-like scales at the ready, in this sculpture. Virginia Xaba has used a mix of blues and black for the base of the statue which offers a contrast to the earthy colors used to paint the pangolin.
