Sandstone concretion sculpture gogotte. This one-of-a-kind piece has fantastic natural landscape details with unique colors and shapes. Classified as a “sand concretion”, gogottes are of a special group of concretions that are visually and geographically distinct. They are only found within the Parisian basin (sometimes referred to as the “Fountainebleau sands”) and have layered, three-dimensional forms as opposed to the spherical, discoid, and/or flattened sandstone concretions from other localities. A gogotte is a millions-of-years-old naturally shaped mineral rarity consisting of tiny quartz fragments held together by calcium carbonate. A mineralogical work of art, each gogotte has a unique and otherworldly shape, which opens each imagination to infinite interpretations.
