Currey & Company
Our sculpture is made from a lost-wax technique when boiling bronze is poured into a mold covering an original wax sculpture that melts away. Once set, there is a very long process of refining the bronze to give it patina. This is among our bronze art pieces created by an unknown artist. We love her femininity.
Eichholtz
The "Bust of Zeus" by Eichholtz celebrates a marble head of Zeus Ammon in The Met's Greek and Roman art collection. This powerful Roman portrait combines a classical Greek image of the bearded Zeus with the ram's horns of the Egyptian Ammon. This contemporary interpretation is handcrafted to perfection. Its striking resemblance to the original celebrates timeless artistry and mythological splendor.
Whimsical in terracotta, Rocky the Teckel is a sculpture by the emerging Thai artist Nhut Nhathawut. With an expression that is so lifelike that it feels like he may bark at any moment, there are a number of artisanal aspects to the canine sculpture. This includes the obvious strokes of the artist's tools that play along the surface of the dog's body. Brownlee Currey had some fun with this dachshund, describing his reality as, "Known for only biting below the knee, he was last seen wading in the ocean just off Miami."
Lladro
Out of Stock
Here, a highly feminine woman is depicted in baroque language, sensual and self-assured, casting aside other more languid or modest portrayals. This is a hedonistic piece that reflects the joie de vivre of these women, their carefree attitude to life, distanced from the cares of the world. The pieces are full of character and although based on a classic theme, they also have a modern look.
