These coasters are inspired by family Summers in Fire Island. The shell is one of my favourite summer motifs – from coasters to napkin rings– it just captures the fun of everything we wanted to say about summer! These hand beaded coasters in cream and gold are pure glamour.

I grew up in the Philippines and capiz was used in so many decorative objects...the pearlescent shell is native to the region. I adore the subtle luster - and the way it throws colors is just stunning. So quite a thrill to be working with the medium for the first time! All of the pieces are hand-cut, dyed, and placed allowing this ombre pattern to really come to life in 3-D! These coasters are the most vivid shade of green - a sure gift hit!
