Beautiful artistic ornament in G. Debrekht's vintage art style. Classic holiday ornament is artistically hand-painted with a combination of transparent & opaque paint for a stunning, deep iridescent lighting effect upon this ornament. This ornament is adorned with a detailed, miniature Christmas scene, finished with a lovely satin ribbon, and then placed in a luxurious satin-lined box.
Holiday Splendor Collection. Hand-painted glass ornaments were imagined for decades and finally became a reality in 2006! This collection has been inspired by Russian lacquered boxes from the world-famous village Fedoskino, where for almost 200 years, artists have been painting beautiful miniature lacquered papier-mâché boxes inlayed with mother of pearl. After years of studying this technique, we established an innovative form of painting that were proud to bring to you our exclusive G. DeBrekht Glass ornaments. Ornaments are created on handblown 1.5 mm thin glass, like in the old times. We spray silver powder inside the glass ball and then sandblast this ball from the outside. We paint our miniatures with a combination of transparent & opaque paint with multi-layer painting techniques for the realistic, deep iridescent effect of the sun or moonlighting the landscape or beautiful scenery on our ornaments. All sides of the ornament are beautifully decorated, accented with touches of gold, finished with a lovely satin ribbon, then placed in a luxurious satin-lined box. Every ornament is an original work of art sure to be cherished by you as it becomes a family tradition…treasured by future generations.

The Faith ornament takes its inspiration from the Khor Virap monastery which is the symbolic birthplace of Christianity in Armenia. It was at Khor Virap (Armenian for “deep dungeon”) where the man who would become Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned in a pit for 14 years before he helped turn Armenia into the first Christian nation. Before attaining sainthood, Grigor Lusavorich was held in the bottom of a pit, where he was secretly fed by a local Christian woman who kept him alive. Later, after curing King Trdat III of a disease, he became the religious mentor of the monarch. During this time, Grigor would be instrumental in converting the king to Christianity. In 301 AD, King Trdat III proclaimed Christianity as the state religion of Armenia – marking the first nation to adopt Christianity officially. “I first visited Khor Virap as a teenager over 40 years ago. The feeling I got while climbing through a small hole and descending into the dungeon where St. Gregory was thrown to die is something that I will never forget. The idea that a man could survive in those conditions for so many years was astonishing to me and is a testament to the depth of his Christian faith.”
