Love the Schlage loc

I went back and forth on buying this for awhile. Finally went for it and it worked for 2 years. However its SOLE PURPOSE which is to prevent you from getting locked out, failed. I had to call a locksmith at 1130pm and pay 175 to have the locksmith destroy the lock by drilling through it to let me in my home. My family and I slept through that night with no lock whatsoever on our door until I could get to the store the next day and buy and install an old fashioned deadbolt with a key. Schlage is only offering to supply me with a new lock. Is not helping whatsoever with the locksmith fees. The locksmith said he sees these type of keypad locks breaking down often. So basically, with no warning, one day you will just be locked out and desperate enough to pay a locksmith 175 to let you in your home. And the lock will be rendered useless.

I love it! I would give it 5 stars but the key is a bit hard to use. It really should not be that huge of a deal considering its purpose; however, I give keys to people checking on my house instead of a code so the key is necessary. Otherwise, it looks great and functions amazingly!

It’s hard to lock with a key or maybe I’m not doing something right? It works like a champ though with the code. Read instructions to operate carefully if you are new to this kind of lock. There are two kinds of codes, a programming code you enter to change your options, and an entry code. I believe two were assigned but you can add your own if you follow the instructions.

I really like this lock. Much better than the ones that use a battery to open.
