Do not buy this mantel! The mantel arrived damaged, which I understand happens so I wouldn’t be furious if that was the only problem. However, this product is described as solid wood and maple, which it is not. It is made of particle board which was made clear because of the chipped corner. The way it assembles is trash. It is being held together by only two dowels. They have you screw in a couple bolts but there are no threaded portions or nuts included on the other piece for it to secure them together. It will stay standing once it’s upright, but it is very wobble to get there. For $1000 do not buy this junk.

Arrived with damage on the top piece of we were able to patch it and repaint that section. It is lovely on the whole.

Very disappointed there are 2 areas this is scratched: front of mantel and bottom of side leg. There was no damage to box or the styrofoam packing so must have happened in manufacturing or packaging. Should include a paint touch up kit with it since many reviews are indicating damage. Otherwise, it seems sturdy.

I had to return the first one due to damage and also returned the replacement due to damage. Then was charged shipping for return.
