Fits above fireplace beautiful!

It’s a yes-if you need a mantel and are looking for clean crisp lines, classic feel and with good depth to display anything, this is the one. The piece itself is well crafted, has appropriate heft in weight and great stain finish.

The cherry mahogany stain on this shelf is a lot more purple than the stain of the same name on my cabinets. I was going to put the shelf over my stove in the kitchen but the colors won’t work together. The finish is also quite glossy It is a very nice shelf though. I’m hoping to find some other place to hang it. I wish it were less dark and shiny.
