Such good prices on these Kohler fixtures!

This has been installed in our shower for 2 1/2 years and for about the last 8 months we've noticed the black finish is coming off of the handle of the valve / trim. We love the look of this and are very disappointed that it is showing signs of wear this quickly.

I have a WHOLE HOME water softener system and my Riff shower trim in Brushed Vibrant Nickel has been in use only 3 weeks. It is spotting and streaking like CRAZY. I have ONLY used the Kohler FAUCET CLEANER which was recommended to me and it doesn't work at ALL. I am SO upset about this. It looks TERRIBLE. I don't know what to use to clean this honestly. I shake, spray it on, wipe with a soft cloth and it doesn't do ANYTHING. But beyond that, WHY is this spotting SO BADLY!!!! This is NOT hard water spots, it's weird as though the finish is not really well done. Never have seen any faucet spot and streak like this. Honestly in about a year, this may get replaced with another brand and I won't be buying Kohler again.
