Upon inspection, the placemats appear to feature a printed design intended to replicate the appearance of ceramic stone, finished with a clear top coat. The sides exhibit a painted plastic-like quality. Given the price point of $300 for the placemats, and the additional cost of the matching coasters, the quality does not meet the expected standards. A higher level of craftsmanship and materials would be anticipated at this price.
