This high yoke back armchair is a reproduction of a classical Chinese armchair called the "Officials Hat Chair" designed with the protruding yoke-shaped top rail, which is representative of hats worn by Ming dynasty officials. This beautifully designed armchair is suitable as a stand-alone piece or beautiful as the central focus point of a room when two or more encircle a table.

This pair of armchairs were retrieved from Shanxi province located in Northwest China with rich culture and history. This pair of antique armchairs has carvings on the back splat. The restoration is intentionally kept to the minimum. The well-aged original finish leaves a beautiful patina all over this pair of armchairs.
