The file drawer on the left side has a locking mechanism. The center area has a storage drawer, a fixed shelf in the kneehole area, and a power strip with three receptacles and a USB jack. Midcentury meets Shaker. Made from solid acacia and finished in a light, smoked honey, with an arched cradle base. Vary-sized drawers bring generous storage space to the home office.

Attractiveness 5 stars. Functionality 0 stars. Drawers are sticky, thus the round pulls are worthless for getting the drawers open. File cabinet hardware is set for legal sized folders. There could have been a simple solution, a small slit in the metal hanging devices that would accommodate letter sized folders, but no - very poor design. Also, the file drawers only open about 1/2 way, so files in the back are hidden. And, the drawer guides are extremely poor given the weight of the drawers. Save your money, as this desk was expensive! Keep looking and try other sites rather than Josh and Main! Also, the matching book case finally came with one of the doors broken. I requested a new door, was told it would be "coming soon" , but as I write this review the "coming soon" was about 15 days ago. So much for customer service!?!. Candace. Ellensburg, WA. Sun May 24 2026

The Grande Italian walnut desk with ebonized details and carved feet is a reflection of Italy's rich tradition of fine woodworking and classical design, particularly prevalent during the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The use of walnut, a favored wood for furniture due to its durability and beautiful grain, is typical of high-quality Italian craftsmanship. The ebonized detailing, which involves darkening the wood, adds contrast and elegance, a technique often used in fine furniture to highlight intricate carvings or architectural elements. The carved feet, possibly depicting animal paws or classical motifs, are characteristic of Italian furniture design, which often draws inspiration from classical antiquity and incorporates symbolic and decorative elements.
