I generally like these as far as appearance, design and size, but there is clearly an issue at the manufacturing plant. I ordered 2 of these. On both, the left frame has very noticeable scratches down the front, and several of the shelves had issues, including one having a full on crack down the center. Several needed to be sanded. Some has significant chips. In one package, where the screws are supposed to attach, I needed to use pliers to straighten since the part was too bent to line up the screw holes. And, on one set, there is a noticeable difference between the distance between the frame and the edge, between the from and back frame. And as other reviewers point out, these are absolutely NOT solid wood shelves. I have no issues with the fact that they are hollow as they seem to be able to support decent weight, but I do not get why they would not put a matching panel on the underside, given that they are tall shelves so you will definitely see the underside of the top 2 shelves pretty easily. They were packed EXTREMELY well so it is evident, shipping was not what caused the damage. Then they sent 2 replacements. In one package, the left frame has a smaller but much deeper scratch, plus a dent. At least more shelves were in better condition in the replacements. It's too bad since the design and size are nice for my space.

The sides appear to be true iron, but this shelf is NOT solid wood, as previous reviews also state. It is hollow wood. I am very disappointed at its a beautiful design, but it is neither solid, nor the color shown in the photos on the ad. The wood is much darker in person and disappointingly does not go well with our floors. Wayfair should post a true-to-color photo update the ad to show hollow wood. We scoured the Internet looking for a solid wood shelf in our budget. But this one did not fail to disappoint.

Great, met my expectations perfectly. I had been on the hunt for the perfect bookcase and even after I found this one I kept looking (just in case) but kept coming bad ok to this one. So glad I did. The instructions are horrible so I had to take it apart and start over after I realized I had a part backwards, but other than that it's pretty easy for 1 person to put together.

Very satisfied. The shelfs look very good although they are hollow. Could be cheaper.

Love my bookcase, it definitely exceeded my expectations!
