I bought this as a pantry shelf in my kitchen and it fits perfectly. The price did intimidate me at first, but it is very sturdy and well built. Aside from the style, what sealed the deal is the color I chose (regatta blue) looks very similar to a place that has a lot of sentimental value to me. The only problem I have now is the cat likes to jump on top of it, but that is by no means a reflection of the quality.

I hesitated on this bookshelf for literally two full years because of the price, and because some reviews were less than amazing. I finally splurged when it dropped to around $1500 for a labor day sale, and let me tell you upon seeing it in person, in my living room? the sale price is moot. This has exceeded my expectations in every possible way: it is a vibrant and perfect flamey red, it's taller than me (and would be better read if I filled it with books), and every aspect is beautifully constructed and I feel confident it will last ages. The openwork of the back and sides allows for great decorating potential (stringing xmas lights and tinsel!) and even if it stayed empty it'd be a beautiful addition to my living room. It's an all-in-one piece (no assembly) and was packed up very safely, covered thoroughly in bubblewrap and shipped in a custom-sized heavyweight cardboard box. I chose the "room of choice" delivery because I'm on the top level of a three-floor walkup and the delivery guys were fantastic: everything was super smooth and just darn perfect. I rationalized this as a birthday present and it's the best one I've received in years and years.

This was a repeat purchase. It is a lovely item and the price was competitive.
