The frame feels sturdy and well-balanced, with no wobbling or creaking. You can tell it’s built with care—everything from the joints to the finish. Unfortunately, the seating surface is where things fall apart. The material used on top is surprisingly rough and scratchy, to the point of being uncomfortable even for short periods. Instead of feeling supportive, it’s irritating against the skin and makes you constantly shift around trying to find a tolerable position. It’s especially noticeable if you’re wearing lighter clothing. It’s frustrating because this stool gets so much right structurally, but the actual sitting experience undermines its value. With a softer or smoother material, it could easily be a standout piece. I question returning the stool.

These are good for what I needed them for. I don't think they were very expensive, and that shows somewhat in the design. These are filler pieces for overall look, and will be fine for a long time unless II eventually decide to replace them with something more expensive. (But there are plenty of other "wants" before then!)

Don't be fooled by the pic. I just got this and it looks cheap. The fabric and materials are definitely inferior. It's a pain to return so I'll just absorb the loss.

This stool is beautiful to look at, but the rope seat is very splintery and scratchy. Our intent was to use this as a dressing stool in our bedroom, but the fiber is just too rough for this purpose. Disappointed.

We bought two of these and love them. They are a bit scratchy, so best if used just for looks.
