Best cake stand I've been able to find, especially for the money. I searched high and low for the perfect cake stand and this is it. I need something that wasn't a pedestal variety, had to be low and compact so it can fit in the fridge and also not tip over in a car. Had to have glass dome, not acrylic. Had to have a base that was flat, without a lip, so delicate cakes could be slid on/off. And had to have untreated wood so it wouldn't impart a weird smell to my cakes. This one checks all the boxes. Poorly made. Comes disassembled. It will not go together tight the way it is designed. The wing nut on the bottom cannot be tightened enough to make the piece stable. I had to find and add a washer to the bottom in order to make it stable. After doing that you will notice that all the shelves are crooked. It also didn't sit level from the feet on the bottom.
