The Michael Aram Palace collection explores, through Michael's eyes, the richness of detail and ornament in Palace throughout the world. As a part-time resident of India since 1989, Palace architecture has been a steady source of inspiration and this collection pays tribute to the geometry and complexity of Moghul's design. The classically elegant shapes and materials in this collection reflect the arches, finials, carved panels, and ornamentation prevalent in the Palace throughout the East. I like the old saying that every man's home is his Palace. This is a collection that brings the grandness and intricacy of Palace architecture into your home, in an elegant yet everyday way. The collection is a journey of sorts into the sophisticated world of regal architecture, yet what I love about it is that there is a surprising simplicity to the geometric forms as well as restraint in the tone-on-tone interplay with light and shadow of the surfaces.

The Calla Lily collection is inspired by the beauty of the Calla Lily flower. The architectural, curving shape of the flower is strong, yet suggests an intense sensuality. The flower is associated with weddings as is symbolic of purity and innocence. "I was thinking of the romance of weddings and how bouquets often use flowers that carry symbolism. I remembered a picture of a woman I had seen holding her bouquet of calla lilies. She was classic, timeless, and modern all at once. There is something so alluring about the billowy flowers and arching stems which feel contemporary, yet still utterly romantic."

Our Oka Tray is practical and beautiful at the same time. The tray is made of powder coated metal and comes with a durable silicone mat. We recommend you to clean the tray with a damp cloth.
