The architectural, curving shape of the Calla Lily flower is strong, yet suggests an intense sensuality. The flower is associated with weddings and is symbolic of purity and innocence. "I was thinking of the romance of weddings and how bouquets often use flowers that carry symbolism. I remembered a picture of a woman I had seen holding her bouquet of calla lilies. She was classic, timeless, and modern all at once. There is something so alluring about the billowy flowers and arching stems, which feel contemporary, yet still utterly romantic."

The Twig collection celebrates the representation of flora as fauna. Michael's fascination with a particular type of ginkgo tree, the Ginkgo Biloba, or "Twig", which grows with a double leaf reminiscent of a butterfly's wings, gave rise to a fantasia image of the plant. Executed at the highest level of handcraftsmanship, each piece is rendered in solid brass with hand-etched cocoon-shaped vessels. The pieces in the collection are a tour de force of the handcrafted process, capturing the poetic spirit that is so deeply indicative of Michael's work. "The first time I saw this tree, it looked like it had been completely overtaken by butterflies... as if we would all take flight the moment I walked too close or made a noise. The idea that the leaves could evoke the beauty of butterflies was magical to me, like trees that can metamorphose from flora to fauna in the blink of an eye."

The Vintage Bloom collection evokes a sentimental interpretation of nature as inspired love of old botanical prints. The mixed metals and delicate enamel finishes capture a sense of nostalgia for the eclectic glamour of the 1940s.

The Golden Ginkgo collection takes its inspiration from the intricacies of form and texture found in foliage from around the world. By interpreting plant forms in cast metal, Aram presents work that is evocative of a natural environment transformed and redefined. These pieces have wonderfully undulating leaves, which create an almost rococo surface of playful, delicate, and intricate forms. By combining the individually sculpted leaves, the natural forms join to create a complex pattern. I've tried to capture that sense of movement and fragility in metal.

The Michael Aram Olive Branch collection is one of the best-known and most loved of Michael's motifs. The simple forms create objects that serve wonderfully as stunning individual gifts or an exuberant table setting that decorates an entire moment of your life. The theme itself captures all the most distinctive aspects of Michael's work - narrative strength, deep symbolism, and extraordinary sculptural expression. The Olive Branch has always held a powerful meaning for me representing both peace and victory. In designing functional objects with natural forms, there is a mingled sense of fragility and intensity. For me, it is like nature spreading through my interior spaces - like a magical olive grove sweetly willing its way into my home.

The Anemone collection is inspired by anemone flowers, which in some cultures are said to bring good luck and offer protection. The flowers are associated with purity and peace. "For me, there is a beauty and gracefulness inherent in anemones. The curving stems and vibrant blooms are feminine and deeply alluring".

The Love Knot collection is an everyday reminder of the strength of togetherness. Beautiful and timeless, knots have been used since antiquity to symbolize love and unity. Whether gifted to someone special or chosen for oneself, Love Knot celebrates the idea of connectedness to a greater whole. "I am drawn to the idea of knots. With no beginning or no end, their twisted, figure-eight-like shapes speak to an eternal bond. The braided ropes show the merging of two elements, coming together into something larger and greater than themselves - as all our loves should be."

The Michael Aram Black Orchid collection was inspired by the powerful sensuality of orchids and the rich ambiance of haute couture - strikingly simple yet full of the most extreme detail. The collection has an almost gothic feeling - opiated, lush, and smoldering - like the dark, velvety atmosphere of a luxurious evening. There is something so seductive about orchids. In blackened nickel, they are even more sublime, like a woman wearing a black velvet gown floating through a great estate or a glassy urban high-rise. The dark atmosphere of the orchids against the hammered metal is like the afterglow of a beautiful evening.

The White Orchid collection celebrates the ethereal spirit of the orchid plant. Symbolic of purity and grace, this collection captures the delicate nature of orchids while also expressing a quality of mystery and sensuality. “There is something so captivating about orchids. The product takes its inspiration from one of the most universal and ancient symbols in the world. The fruit has been prized across the globe, across cultures, and across time as a representation of life, rebirth, and renewal as well as fertility and union. "I grew up around Pomegranates - from their use as natural dyes on the antique rugs I used to crawl on as a baby to an integral ingredient in the food that I love. When I'm at my home in New Delhi, I wake each morning to the taste of fresh-squeezed Pomegranate juice. The color, the smell, the delicate flavor all make it feel like a magical elixir to me."

The Palm collection is inspired by the beauty of a windswept Palm tree and the perfectly imperfect shapes of woven Palm leaves and fallen fronds. The warm antique gold finish and the intricate sculpted textures exude comfortable luxury and graciousness. I was having lunch with friends on a veranda overlooking the sea when I looked down to the lawn and saw a fallen Palm frond. The leaves were all twisted and curled, yet they stood out magnificently against the otherwise perfect landscape. It made me think of the passage of time, and the bountiful gifts of the Palm tree, which provides everything from food to shelter.

The Twig collection represents the textures of nature. By uniquely casting plant forms in metal, the Twig conjures a natural environment, yet one subtly sophisticated and redefined. Drawing from fundamental motifs in Michael's work, each piece transforms environmental studies into tactile objects for your everyday life-celebrating nature, in both form and function. For me, the shapes conjure a sense of freshness and fragility. At the same time, the textures represent a metaphor for life itself - growth, vitality, and pulsation. Everybody has an emotional response when they see natural objects. They are part of all of us. What I enjoy about these pieces is that in a way they are 'slices' of nature, small vignettes of the forest. It is fascinating to imagine the outside world infiltrating my interior spaces as if the room is being gently consumed by nature.
