I love the look, but I was surprised to find these are completely plastic. I understand Mepra is a high-standard brand, which explains the premium price, but it is hard to justify paying this much for lightweight material. Beautiful! I ordered 15 (they didn't have 16 available) and one of the settings was missing a small spoon. I was able to speak with an actual person - lovely by the way - to immediately resolve the missing spoon. The box it came in was just cardboard box which I was surprised since it’s a very nice brand. Silverware though came in little plastic foil wrap so it was kind of protected. Besides poor packaging everything looks beautiful. It’s shiny and so clear you can use it as a mirror. Also the knives are so sharp I had to put them away from little kids hands but for cutting purposes they are great. I'm so disappointed. I truly wanted to love these and be in awe of such finery that they were supposed to be. The 18/10 is a good, balanced, heavy feel and the finish is really nice. However, the stamped design is very inconsistent, missing at times and smudged sideways at times, and there's several knicks on the handles. Literally every 5 piece set has multiple problems and it made me wonder if they sold me seconds! How could they possibly pass inspection?? What's worse, is this a replacement for the Mepra Dolce Vita flatware I purchased first, only I would have given that set 3 stars. I feel so frustrated. This is the first time in our married life(19 years) that we picked out and purchased flatware, and it's been disheartening to spend $1000 for what looks like beat up seconds when it was supposed to be fine, quality, family made flatware from Italy!.
