Alessi Flatware Sets

This collection was Alessi's only model of cutlery. Despite the grim prospects forwarded by those in the sector, the collection proves that its innovative shape and resolute style, along with extreme manageability and an excellent finish, can weather the storm. Over the years, the Dry model has opened up the road for us and various other cutlery sets, though it has always remained well up among the leaders.

A childrens cutlery set consisting of table knife, fork and spoon, made from 18/10 stainless steel. The curvy, flowing shape of the cutlery is inspired by the playful imagination of young children while also serving their needs. Functionality is complemented by a pleasing rounded shape.

The cutlery set was designed by the English architect David Chipperfield. Attention to continuity of form makes the grip soft and the design startling, despite its apparent simplicity.

Giro Kids is a set of cutlery consisting of a knife, fork, and spoon. Careful adaptation to the needs of very young children has made these the perfect tools for eating their first meals on their own. The fork has rounded tips and wide prongs, with a slightly cupped shape, similar to that of a spoon. The knife has a rounded tip and a blunt blade.

Massimiliano Fuksas and Doriana Mandrelli have been commissioned by Alessi to bring their considerable talents to the concept of the table in its entirety. Their objective is to introduce an incisive and contemporary interpretation of the classic rituals of the table.

Nuovo Milano is one of the most complete services in the Alessi catalog, offering a selection of 26 different types of cutleries. It is made of stainless steel and created from Sottsass's desire to design all the objects necessary for a "beautiful table"; this collection of cutleries is a typical contemporary design.

Designed by Josef Hoffmann in 1906, the Rundes Modell cutlery fully respected the design guidelines of the Wiener Werkstätte, of which the designer was one of the founders: functionality and practicality together with the refined processing of the materials. Alessi reissued a version of this historic service in 18/10 stainless steel.

I've never purchased new flatware, always had some hand-me-downs which was just fine because it never mattered. But I saw these, loved the look and purchased them. Designed in 1938 and presented in silver at the 1940 Triennale, the collection series of cutlery - an excellent example of “Lombard classicism” in design - won praise from Gio Ponti for the balance it struck between an image of craftsmanship and the industrial future of household objects. Since 1990, thanks to an agreement after extensive philological research to complete the series with the missing pieces, the collection has been reissued in 18/10 stainless steel and in 925/00 silver for the brand.

This set is absolutly beautiful and a delight to hold in my hand. The knife has an edge on it that is sharp enough to cut easily with. The small spoon is very small but is so balanced that it is comfortable in my hand, and I have large hands. I purchased the set with the 3 tongs on the fork and is very pleasing to look at.
