I did have some coffee and cake and found the cup of coffee didn't feel hot on the outside at all. I ended up using the other plates for supper and I washed them afterwards. I had pasta and usually it stains the plate some but not this one. They came out clean. I put the set up because I don't want it to break, I'm a clumsy person.
