Sturdy and has a non-intrusive appearance. Almost all other options I could find online from this and other websites were quite expensive and sometimes very ornate. This piece is great value and most certainly keeps away the embarrassment of pulling out that freebie plastic cake server that came with a store bought cake when entertaining guests. Pros: great value and I think it will hold up well (just got it) Cons: the handle is a little short, but it is comfortable in my medium sized hand
