The vermillion bird represents the element fire, the color vermilion red, the southern direction, and summer. The Shan Hai Jing describes the phoenix as being born on Dan Mountain. Also called the Dan Phoenix. The phoenix also refers to one of exceptional talent and was born in a south-facing valley at the South Pole, and symbolizes talent and lofty aspirations. The vermillion bird is said to bring prosperity, progeny, and peace. Vermilion red is also a celebratory color in traditional Asian culture for weddings and new business openings. This piece is an ingenious juxtaposition of detail and sparseness, color and transparency, space and form. The vermillion bird appears like the blazing sun, distant yet near, forever shining, representing our deepest wishes. The nature of glass transports the light and presents a space for imagination to spark. This exclusive high porcelain piece is a limited edition of 500 units. Made in glazed porcelain, the knight’s costume and parts of the horse’s harness are decorated with a newly created bluing luster which manages to emulate the characteristic dark grey metallic color of the chainmail worn by knights at the time. Blue and white tones combined with golden lusters were used for the clothing. Carried out with great attention to detail, the work is composed of 71 fragments taken from 58 different molds. The "Faith" sculpture takes its inspiration from the Khor Virap monastery which is the symbolic birthplace of Christianity in Armenia. It was at Khor Virap (Armenian for "deep dungeon") where the man who would become Saint Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned in a pit for 14 years before he helped turn Armenia into the first Christian nation. Before attaining sainthood, Grigor Lusavorich was held in the bottom of a pit, where he was secretly fed by a local Christian woman who kept him alive. Later, after curing King Trdat III of a disease, he became the religious mentor of the monarch. During this time, Grigor would be instrumental in converting the king to Christianity. In 301 AD, King Trdat III proclaimed Christianity as the state religion of Armenia - marking the first nation to adopt Christianity officially. I first visited Khor Virap as a teenager over 40 years ago. The feeling I got while climbing through a small hole and descending into the dungeon where St. Gregory was thrown to die is something that I will never forget. The idea that a man could survive in those conditions for so many years was astonishing to me and is a testament to the depth of his Christian faith.

The Pirul name and design come from a very important tree that is representative and the namesake of the Pirwi brand. The Pirul tree is not popular for manufacturing, however, it has other uses: it prevents erosion, it has antiseptic properties, it’s pest resistant, and it tolerates drought. A marine fantasy scene, in which two young mermaids ride in the depths of the sea on a conch shell drawn by two seahorses. The smaller mermaid carries a mandolin and the other an amphora.
