This pair of antique carvings from mid-19th century China are handcrafted from fine wood and feature intricate details and stunning craftsmanship. This pair of carvings are a timeless piece of art. A marine fantasy scene, in which two young mermaids ride in the depths of the sea on a conch shell drawn by two seahorses. The smaller mermaid carries a mandolin and the other an amphora. Highlights are the exquisitely delicate underwater vegetation: the fine corals, the colorful seaweed, ... made with the same technique as porcelain flowers. This is one of the few Lladro pieces whose subject matter requires such work, and on which Lladró artisans have taken such pains to create a masterpiece.

Guillaume Grando, known under the artistic name of Supakitch, is the author of the two new The Guest. Supakitch began his career as a graffiti artist in the early 90s and, since then, the fluidity required in the application of graffiti has marked the sinuosity of the strokes of his work. His creative proposals focus on gesture, movement, liquid matter, color, and the reflection of light. Elements that are masterfully captured in the versions of The Guest that he has worked on for Lladro. Porcelain and, in particular, the use of degraded pearl luster, have been ideal for reproducing that water effect to which the reflection of light seems to give movement and depth. A result that is reinforced by the volume of the waves that cover the surface of the pieces.

Grogu is a cute little character who quickly conquered the hearts of countless fans of the Star Wars saga ever since he first appeared in The Mandalorian series. The sculptural work in this creation, handcrafted in porcelain, is particularly outstanding for the perfect likeness of the character and the different decorative techniques used. His face, ears, and hands are decorated with liquid colors, perfect for underscoring all the details of the skin, like the little frown lines, the dimple, and the shape of the ears. Pearly touches are also used for the cheeks, as well as soft stony gray and pink tones. A matte camel color was chosen for his robe, combined with off-white for the collar and sleeves.
