Though the history of the Roman empire is awash with the feats of emperors, no tales told were nearly as cruel as those of the formidable emperor Caracalla. Though history hasn't been kind to the tyrannical monarchy of his reign, this bust statue of the ruler the Romans feared is important for the history and culture it represents. Caracalla fancied himself a military genius, the reincarnation of Alexander the Great. Their impressively, life-size sculptural bust is cast in quality designer resin.

The renowned glass artist Bertil Vallien has designed a stand for his collection Brains, which has space for 12 objects - the ideal item for all collectors. The Sprial Horn Bust is an Art Deco Ibex, which displays the exaggerated grace of mature, circled horns. Our Hadrian Bust is made from terracotta-based ceramic, formulated in a method the Italians refer to as "calco", the act of packing a perfectly produced mold with terracotta clay. Once allowed to dry it is pulled away from the mold and transferred to a kiln where it's fired at 950 degrees, then fired for a 2nd time after being glazed in our signature antique white.

Brain Look is a decorative collector’s item that can easily be affixed to a wall using the stainless steel bracket that is included. This object in the clear glass is designed by Bertil Vallien and is part of the Kosta Boda artist collection. It is cast in a mold at Kosta Glassworks and colored inside with color rods made at the glassworks. The color is revealed through the clear glass, with a pattern of lines representing meandering thoughts. You have seen them before, but they are bigger this time and made to hang on your wall. Bertil Vallien first introduced Brains in 1999, having considered the concept for well over a decade. His aim was to capture a sleeping yet breathing soul in the secretive state between dreaming and wakefulness. Long before this, he had heard of Karolina Olsson’s piece, “The Sleeping Girl of Oknö.” According to the story, she slept for 32 years of her life, and then suddenly awakened one day in April 1908. This narrative has continued to fascinate Bertil, who returns to it in his work time and time again. In the spring of 2023, as Bertil celebrates 60 years as a glass artist with Kosta Boda, he has created a new collection of Brain's. A gift of sorts to those of us who have followed his work over the years and who have never ceased to love his unique ability to reinvigorate glass art. The works included in the Brains Anniversary Edition are slightly larger and heavier than previous releases, resting peacefully on a soft leather cushion. Annual Brains is handmade in Kosta, Sweden.

George Sellers created Athena by hand carving it from clay; a plaster casting was then sent to Italy for production in ceramic. The original, thought to be from the 4th century BC, is on display at the Louvre in Paris, France. Athena was the Greek goddess of many things: wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, just warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. Minerva is the Roman goddess equivalent of Athena. The Greek city of Athens and the goddess Athena essentially bear the same name. Our goddess is made from terracotta-based ceramic, formulated in a method the Italians refer to, the act of packing a perfectly produced mold with terracotta clay.
