After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University in 1998, Blakely Bering put her studies in costume and set design to direct use by working in opera design and television production around the United States, before returning to her home of Texas. Transitioning from large-scale design to fine art was seamless and natural for her. Painting figurative abstractions and “Blooms” at first, Blakely’s art evolved into pure abstraction. Experimenting with techniques, mediums, and styles; the “Oil slick” developed in 2006, is recognized as Blakely’s classic style. Reflecting on her theatrical sense, the artwork is powerful from thirty feet away. Inspired by her love of cooking, Blakely combines oils, powdered pigments, crushed metals, and secret ingredients, from scratch, to create her paint mixtures. Her work is known not only for its beauty and sense of frozen movement but for its sustained ability over time.

Elena Carlie was born in Romania; a country known for its rich cultural heritage and great natural beauty. At the age of 22, she moved to the united states where she expanded her horizons and grew as an artist. She has studied fine arts since she was a child and currently holds a BFA in graphic design from the University of NH. “art defines our humanity, freedom, and individuality. It is a way to articulate abstract thought and separates us from other life forms. Art is incredibly therapeutic for me, and foremost a strong passion. It’s not something I think about, but rather, something I feel.” Carlie finds inspiration everywhere. She strives to discover new ways of interpretation and sees this as a formula to remain fresh. It is a way of having fun while doing something that she loves. “to me, anything that can be manipulated can become an art medium.” “I love to work with watercolor paint, oil paint, acrylic paint, pencil, pen, and ink. However, the digital tools available today are pushing the limits of creativity and I find myself very involved with it.”

The Artist, David Keochkerian, lives in Somme, France. He has a Ph.D. in human physiology and works in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. He’s been practicing photography for 5 years now, although he fell into the cauldron when he was a child: his father is now a retired photographer. He grew up with the smell of chemicals and the shutter snap and purr of his roller transport print processor. “I like to capture the fleeting, the subtle, the beautiful, the rare, the spectacular, the staggering… to reveal how the daily and the ordinary can be filled with enthusiasm.” His work is very heterogeneous. He uses and associates many photographic techniques (DRI, HDR, panoramic, Vertorama, long exposure), image renditions (color, B&W, infrared), and different themes (landscape, macro, light-painting, architecture, industry).
