Geoffrey Baris is a photographer in Saint Petersburg, Florida, who spent 30 years of his career as a fashion photographer and shot almost every catalog that you threw away, from Cosmopolitan to Eddie Bauer. While Geoffrey was on assignment all over the world for his fashion work he started photographing the beautiful nature of the exotic locations. He fell in love with making art and finding abstractions in nature. Frequently, when Geoffrey is asked, "What is that a picture of?" his response is that he is attempting to discover and illuminate unique shapes and forms that surround us in everyday things. He is focused on finding vivid expressions of art in as many places as possible. Sometimes it's a face in a flower, a crack in the sidewalk, a reflection in the water, or an unusual form on a wall. Always searching, seeking, looking, and wandering he finds "Art Is Everywhere" if he just looks from a deeper place within himself.

Shawn Thomas is a photographer from Austin, Texas. His education and professional background are in social work, education, and statistics, and I continue to be interested in utilizing social science research to better understand how all people can master themselves and their environments to realize their potential and their dreams. "In my work, I generally don’t go looking for the most amazing waterfalls or vistas or architectural wonders, though I am happy to photograph those amazing subjects whenever I have the chance. Instead, I more typically go out to explore everyday scenes or objects in which wonders exist but often go unnoticed. I would like my work to turn people on to the many amazing things that surround them every day, and the brilliance within that too often goes unnoticed. Like a yellowed leaf that’s fallen on the hood of a deep blue car, or two bright green vines that meet and wrap around each other in an empty space."
Kim is an Austin-based artist specializing in abstract paintings. She was raised in Houston, TX where she realized her passion for art at a young age. After years of focused practice, she studied at Texas Christian University where she fostered her love and skill in painting. In Kim's adult life, art has opened doors to professional apprenticeships in Austin, Houston, New York, and London; and opened up worldwide travel opportunities including extended stays in India, Zambia, Western Europe, and Southeast Asia. Kim's practice is inspired through her training and travel as well as by abstract expressionists whose lives and careers explored questions of space, identity, and subconscious through abstractions, repetition, and process. Namely Helen Frankenthaler, Georgia O'Keefe, and Agnes Martin.

Brad Ellis is a Texas-based artist whose focus is on abstract painting. Throughout his career, he has continually experimented with imagery from tightly rendered, systematic patterns to loosely constructed, expressionistic compositions. He has distinguished himself by embracing the ancient medium of encaustic which is hot wax painting and is a process by which heated beeswax is mixed with pigments and applied to board or canvas and then fused to the surface with a heat source. Brad approaches each new painting with the same consistency that he's employed for many years now which he referred to as “Pattern, Rhythm, and Process.” He typically starts each painting by building up layers of paper and/or fabric collage materials by cutting and mounting these pieces onto the canvas or board and arranging them in a way to form the underlying pattern of the painting. This helps lay the foundation for the initial imagery and paves the way for the applications of the other mediums.

Melanie Biehle is a Seattle-based artist whose abstract paintings are fueled by exploring the world. She draws inspiration from the often opposing energy of the city and the sea. Melanie zooms in on the shapes and patterns of architecture or coastal rocks, and then taking a step back, reveals an expansive view of endless ocean waves or gleaming architectural skylines. Both views are essential in creating her abstractions in mood and in content.

Charles Stuart is a painter, photographer, designer, printmaker, and digital artist. He has been making art and design since 1968. Charles's work is imagined rather than observed. It is expressive and colorful. He creates new images that speak with the past but are not recreations. At the age of fifteen, he had no other way in mind. He looked at Modern Paintings and decided "this is for me!" it is a painting rather than "Art" that interests him. It's all about pictures, color, texture, mark-making.. gesture, surface.
