Artist Mark Sargent was born in Buffalo, New York, and grew up in Egypt. He studied modern art and art history at the University of Fine Arts in Cairo. Mark's grandfather was part of the pioneering generation that founded modern Egyptian art, and Mark fondly remembers growing up admiring his paintings. Mark developed his skill set by studying Old Master paintings in museums around the world. He finds inspiration in nature and the world around him, capturing everyday events and details that most people would miss. Mark enjoys working with oils for his art.
