This is such a great addition to our daily bedding!

The Essential Bed Blanket is a nice medium weight blanket. I suggest washing it before using to remove the mild manufacturing odor. It does shed much in the wash, but the dryer removes most of it.

Essential Blanket Review: tl;dr 10/10, softest blanket you will ever find, softer than the waffle blanket, truly “essential” to own. Read the full review: I’ve never owned a 100% cotton blanket, but have used them when I was a guest at hotels or other homes. Those blankets were functional but nothing special. I ordered B&B’s essential blanket because it was the only blanket available in Hydrangea (at that time) & I wanted a full set in Hydrangea with sheets, a duvet cover, & a blanket. (The color Hydrangea is THAT good. ) I was SHOCKED when my blanket arrived! The blanket is beautiful! The color is gorgeous and it has tight stitching, a substantial weight, & is expertly sewn. It is oversized and hangs nicely over my Queen bed. What really impressed me is the hand-feel — the essential blanket is the softest blanket I have ever felt, ever owned, will ever own! I see now why Boll & Branch named this blanket the “essential blanket”. Essential means “absolutely necessary; extremely important”. This blanket is all that and more. It is a blanket that will last forever and is worth every penny! I have since purchased the new Hydrangea waffle blanket, and while its texture is amazing, and will likely soften with each wash, the essential blanket is soft beyond compare *right out of the box*. Buy one in your favorite color, you will be glad you did! It makes every night more pleasant. Just feeling the softness of this blanket lulls me to sleep. FYI -I live in California. This, paired with a lightweight duvet, gives me the extra warmth I need during our “cool” months when it is 70 F or lower. I think I will be able to use it even when the weather warms up, and I can see myself pulling it off the bed to curl up with on the couch. One of the best purchases I have made! The Essential Bed Blanket has so many excellent reviews already; it doesn’t really need more praise. Everything about it is wonderful. Its dense weave makes it toasty warm for cool nights, but it is lightweight enough for summer. Two stellar features not found in other blankets - it stays in place, and it is extra WIDE!

Love it — my new essential. I hate top sheets, so this is the perfect base layer. It’s incredibly soft and makes my bed feel so cozy. It’s definitely thicker and heavier than a traditional top sheet, which adds to the comfort. My only note is that it’s already starting to develop a bit of fuzz after one wash.
