• The reductive prints give the illusion of texture while maintaining the integrity of the original work of art. In other words - they are the flat version of an original. The key to our reductive print starts with the scan. The scanner captures all of the detail from the original. Every mark, brushstroke, fine line, smudge and incidental as well as the peaks and valleys of the piece are captured and reproduced to simulate the depth of the original when printed.
• Era: 1596-1656. From Rijks: The Dutch landscape is defined by its extensive lowlands, as Jan van Goyen painted here. Much of the countryside consists of polders. The water level inside these areas surrounded by is regulated with the help of mills. Schiphol Airport, too, is located in such a polder, approximately four metres below sea level. Before it was empoldered in the 19th century there was a large body of water here called the Haarlemmermeer.
