The spout, which recalls a chick's beak (hence the name of the coffee maker - "Pulcina " = "chick") allows it to perfectly stop the drop. The Alessi Pulcina is an inventive evolution of the traditional coffee pot.

An alternative of the ever-popular espresso cup and saucer design accommodates two shots (which, in Italy, they call a “doppio”), and features a white ceramic (removable) insert and ceramic saucer. Both ceramic pieces are dishwasher safe; consider adding an espresso spoon to complete the presentation. Each cup is stamped with hallmarks representing the workshop, the company, the tin content of the alloy, and the region of Italy where the pieces are made.

A brilliant example of mixed material design, the product marries warm acacia wood and glass to create a modern interpretation of the server. Its clear glass body allows you to easily see how much of its contents remain, and its wood lid seals tight for freshness. This set includes a metal scoop that nestles snugly into the lid.

Miriam Mirri was an Italian designer, she was born in Bologna. She lives and works in Milan where since 2010 her office is based. She studied design and communication at the Università del Progetto. She collaborated with several design companies; she worked with Stefano Giovannoni until 1999. In 2000 she began her freelance design activity; she designed houseware, pet accessories, day and night objects, watches, complements, and furniture collaborating among others with Alessi. She took part in national and international exhibitions. She has held design workshops at the Università del Progetto and the Domus Academy in Milan and presented her works at some design master courses.
