Canopy owes both its shape and its name to the ceiling rose, one of the simplest and often neglected elements of lighting technology, used to conceal the wires coming out of the ceiling. Inside the dome, a particular source of light has been inserted, the circline bulb, capable of diffusing a soft, sinuous light into the surrounding environment.

A balanced and refined presence, distinctive but not ostentatious. Dora is a family of lamps based on the contrast between the warmth of the glass diffuser and the sobriety of the metal body that supports it. The strong references to classical forms, evident above all in the design of the lampshade, are softened and modernized in the minimalism of the metal stem and foot.

By means of the Switch lamp, the Japanese designer Nendo revisits the shape of the classic abat-jour by renewing both its materials and its function. The archetypal shape of the cylindrical lampshade is transformed by using metal while its function as a diffuser is combined with that of a ‘switch’, hence its name. In fact, the lamp is switched on and off by turning the sheet metal lampshade, inextricably blending shape and function, aesthetics and functionality.

These luminous stones, available in three different sizes, can be positioned, either alone or together, in the greenery of a garden or the intimacy of a summer terrace, to create an interplay of diffuse, captivating light.

Designed by Victor Vasilev, a Parallel Metal Table Lamp consists of a cylindrical metal lampshade supported by a vertical stem positioned laterally. The stem has two matt-black metallic plates that are spaced apart and slide in Parallel directions from the base to the lampshade. What makes Parallel unique is the lampshade, which has been covered on the outside with hammered leather. This is the first time that Oluce has used leather in a collection of lamps, and this shows its ability to explore new solutions and to continue to remain innovative. The Parallel Metal Table Lamp also exists in a floor lamp version.

Lu-Lu is a theoretical lamp, endowed with just the right measure of geometric abstraction required by objects to maintain their courtliness. The Kelly wall lamp by Studio 63 is characterized by an elegant, minimalist design, an object that is capable of being gracefully, nonchalantly introduced into a wide range of housing environments. Its rectangular metal shape, made from curved, laser-cut metal, directs the light both upwards and downwards creating diffused, non-invasive lighting.

Table or floor lamp with stove-enameled sheet metal reflector purposely designed to take a special horizontal spotlight bulb. A plastic joint allows the reflector to tilt. In 1967 Spider won the Compasso d’Oro award. It is part of the permanent collections of the Milan Triennale, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Kunstmuseum of Düsseldorf, and the “Neue Sammlung Museum” in Munich. The Fiore chandeliers lamp is characterized by a deliberate hark back to the 1970s. The lamp becomes a flower with its petals radiating around it. Perhaps it is a daisy, barely outlines in the abstract sharpness of the metal and glass, but it is poetically evoked by the shadow that is projected on the wall or ceiling.

The yolk is a project designed by Angeletti and Ruzza who ironically and light-heartedly play on the duo concept, starting from the mix of elements making the lamp, metal, and glass, which reflect and diffuse the light. This is then echoed by its name, evoking the simplicity of the quintessential two-material element, the egg, which is also the emblem of the creative duo’s generative power.

The Fresnel is a small lamp that can fit into the palm of your hand. It emits a special, soft, deep, and diffused light. Available for both outdoors and indoors, the Fresnel is a lamp created by Joe Colombo with the intention of appearing to be one of those perfect objects that cannot be improved any further because it has been designed by time, capable of making essentiality and practicality synonyms of elegance.

The Line wall lamp uses the special oval Pyrex glass to portray an essential and minimal image. The generous size, the importance of the material, the partial polished aluminum coating, and the existence of two light sources that diffuse the light both upwards and downwards, make Line a versatile product.

With their Lanterna lamp, Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli succeed in enclosing light in a casing made of air. The pure shape is composed of two bell-shaped Murano glass diffusers one inside the other: the first, transparent diffuser, hosts the second sand-blasted one, containing the light source.

The story of Sonora is one of a pure geometrical shape, pursued by Magistretti throughout his entire life. The creative path followed by the architect and designer in his projects is, in fact, an absolutely peculiar itinerary: geometry represents a constant fellow traveler; his main source of inspiration, always and in any case, is a simplification.

The Coupé table lamp is made of a lacquered metal base, a chromium-plated stem, and an adjustable reflector in lacquered aluminum. The simple and ingenious mechanism that connects the stem to the head makes it possible to direct the beam in several directions by moving the dome up, down, and sideways. In 1968, Coupé won the ”International Design Award” of the American Institute of interior designers in Chicago. It is part of the permanent collection at both the MoMA in New York and the ”Neue Sammlung” Museum in Munich.

The Astro has three transparent and sanded surfaces and the rest are opaque, making it look like a little jewel whose geometrics are underlined by the materials that form it: the metal part, which comes in white or black, and the transparent and sanded glass create a “prism” effect on the light.

The Agnoli model takes the extraordinary “cornalux” or “hammerhead” bulb, capable of directing the light in a highly precise manner, mounting it onto a sliding tube on a stem. The Agnoli has a sophisticated thick travertine base: another element in which simplicity and functionality are transformed into poetry.

With their two lamps Lanterna and Lanternina, Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli succeed in enclosing light in a casing made of air. Design Joe Colombo, 1970. The visionary and futuristic designer Joe Colombo designed the Colombo lamp in 1970, on the wave of the rapid diffusion of halogen light. The design is in fact one of the first domestic lamps to use the new type of bulb. The design of the Colombo lamp – base, chrome stem, and adjustable reflector – responds to the demands for clean shapes and technological functionality that go hand in hand with the concept and design of this great designer. Produced in several variants – floor, wall, or ceiling lamp – the Colombo family of products remains, even after more than 40 years, one of the top sellers from the Oluce catalog. To mark its 50th anniversary, the Colombo family was updated in a modern LED dimmer version.

Eva is a metal table lamp that investigates opposites: hollow and solid, light and dark, taking them from theory into practice. The interaction between humans and objects takes on a fundamental significance, adding a playful and continually surprising element to the light. The inside of the ball is concealed by a surface that almost perfectly completes it, closing it like a sphere that recomposes itself, with the exception of a circle, a luminous light spiral that recalls the phenomenon of an eclipse. As this circular surface moves towards the interior or exterior of the ball, it allows different amounts of light to pass through, creating intimate, suffuse atmospheres, and revealing glimpses of the fine gold leaf walls inside the Eva lamp with varying degrees of clarity.

Cylinda is a table lamp formed from two cylinders of different dimensions and thicknesses. The first, which is slimmer and taller, becomes the base supporting the second unit, a large, slender disc that forms the light-shade, with an LED light source shining beneath it.

References to the world of nature, with soft shapes contrasted with square lines, together with the use of a satin brass finish, combine to create Alba, a wall lamp with a strong visual impact.

The G.O. 20" Desk Lamp is the revival edition of a model designed for Oluce by Giuseppe Ostuni in the 1960s. Characterized by a vertical shaft from which the horizontal arm branches off and on which the lampshade is mounted. The arm, thanks to the system of joints, is therefore a sliding element that can be repositioned and oriented depending on specific needs. The lamp also exists in a floor lamp version.
