This is the fastest growing part of the stone industry. Long a favorite of the design community for its elegant and subtle colorations.
This is spectacular tile with a warm white limestone look. We have used this type of split face stone mosaic on numerous projects and love the very classy, contemporary organic, textured look. Super easy to install because no grout is needed, although you will want to caulk in some spots. A warm white caulk will be a good match.
We use mastic with a v groove 316 trowel. The mastic typically dries gray so try to keep it off the face of the stone. To cut this you will want a wet saw. This travertine cuts much more easily than other split face I have used. That’s good because you will be making a LOT of cuts! Plan your layout so that you can bulk cut a bunch of half pieces and you will be able to go a lot faster. Thankfully, this brand of stone is very well glued to the mesh so that it doesn’t fall apart when you’re cutting on a wet saw.
There are no corner pieces so you will need to decide whether to miter or overlapinterlock joints at outside corners. We mitered and caulked this time but it was probably more trouble than it was worth.
One final note, because the pieces are so small, there’s not a ton of waste with this tile, so I would order a max of five percent over.. Drdesign. Ft Worth, Texas. Mon Sep 15 2025
