Eleonora is inspired by a 16th-century Swedish mural first appearing as part of Zoffany's portfolio in 2010. A Swedish evocation of a rural paradise akin to the Arcadian Thames's elegant trailing branches leaves and calling birds embodies simplicity and romanticism. Screen printed on linen union twill.
A suzani motif is rendered in velvet with a combination of piles and loops on a sateen-like ground for a subtle, tone-on-tone interpretation of a traditional pattern.

An exciting discovery from the Sanderson archive (drawn by F.M.Barnett c.1961) this intricate design was immediately adopted and translated into this stunning embroidery with its bright array of tropical colors adorning a choice of base cloths.
