Handcrafted by Italian glass artisans on the island of Murano, the Mirabelle collection features one-of-a-kind art glass items created using a unique centrifuge process. Molten glass is spun in large copper bowls of varying sizes, and once it stops spinning, artisans skillfully shape, mold, cut, and reheat the glass into stunning forms. After a meticulous annealing process, each piece is cooled and stabilized, ready to be displayed as a beautiful work of art.
Inspired by classic volcanic rock molcajete bowls, this reimagined design features three softened block legs that float the bowl delicately off the table. Low and wide, the burnt reclaimed finish is hand-finished with a burning technique to highlight grain, knots and texture.
This one-of-a-kind art glass bowl is utilizing a centrifuge process that spins molten glass in large copper. The shape is formed after the glass stops spinning and the artisans begin to shape, mold, cut, and reheat the glass into the shape. After a long annealing process, the glass is cool, stable, and able to be packed.
