I purchased this and the butterfly piece as a gift. Both items arrived together, sufficiently packaged and without damage (just some simple bending on the 'wings,' which is easy as they are made of formable wire). These decor are easy to mount upon a wall and look wonderful in a rustic-chic or sunroom-type environment. This artisan faithfully replicates the fertility mask of the Baule people of Cote d'Ivoire. He carves the sese wood mask by hand with female features including a comb in her hair and inverted triangles on the cheeks. The mask is worn during special festivities for a good harvest.

Crafted and painted by hand, this colorful mask is the work of Abdul Aziz Mohamadu. Embossed aluminum adorns the cheeks for contrast and textural interest, and the white tonalities come from applications of clay. An original design from his own imagination, this mask is named Daimuwa, a Hausa word meaning "persisting to get something accomplished."

Seemingly caught in a song or a speech, this stunning "Ebore Nesa" mask is an original design by Sefah Annwhar. Meaning "God's gift" in the Gonja language (Ghana), the sese wood mask is carved by hand and painted violet, yellow, and black. Annwhar further decorates this mask with embossed aluminum to create the illusion of tribal markings.
