Carved by hand from African rubberwood, this Sangaya mask is used by the Mgbakpa people of Nigeria during their millet festival. Its name means "promise of love" and shows appreciation of women's good work. Featuring closed eyes and opened mouth, the mask is painted by hand in shades.

With its circular face and characteristic triangular nose, this African mask represents those used in rituals by the Kidumu men's society. Christopher Nyasafo takes his inspiration from the Teke-Tsaye people of Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Ghanaian artisan carves the piece by hand and paints it in orange and ivory.

This attractive mask is the original design of Awudu Saaed from Ghana. Hand carved from rubberwood and given a dark brown finish, the mask is then accented with embossed brass plates that evoke tribal scarification. The head of an elephant looms above, his trunk extending to the bridge of the nose.
