Please note: our salt and pepper mills are not interchangeable. The pepper mills have stainless steel grinding mechanisms, which salt (a corrosive) will destroy. Our salt mills have a ceramic mechanism, which salt will not harm.

Love the look and the quality of workmanship. In fact I ordered a second pair for a family Christmas gift. But I have two problems : first, there are no obvious markings on the boxes to distinguish the salt mill ( with ceramic grinder) from the pepper mill ( stainless grinder). Second, I could not figure out how to open and load the grinders. It appears that a Phillips screwdriver may be required to open.
